Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 4, 2026
Treatly ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Treatly iOS app and website.
Information We Collect
Treatly collects only the minimum information needed to provide you with a great experience:
- Account information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier (and your name/email only if you choose to share them).
- Treat entries: Photos, names, ratings, notes, categories, tags, prices, and locations you add to your treat journal. This data is stored locally on your device and synced via your personal iCloud account.
- Social features: If you choose to use the social feed, your shared treat posts, likes, and comments are stored on our servers (Firebase) to enable the social experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve Treatly:
- Display your treat journal, calendar, map, and stats
- Sync your data across your devices via iCloud
- Enable social features (sharing, likes, comments) if you opt in
- Improve the app experience through anonymized usage analytics
What We Don't Do
This is just as important as what we do:
- We do not sell your personal data to anyone. Ever.
- We do not track your health, calories, nutrition, or fitness.
- We do not share your data with third-party advertisers.
- We do not use your photos for AI training or any purpose beyond displaying them in your journal.
Data Storage & Security
Your treat journal data is stored locally on your device and backed up through Apple's iCloud service. Social features data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) with industry-standard security practices. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.
Website Analytics & Cookies
Our website (www.treatly.app) uses two analytics tools:
- Vercel Web Analytics: A privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics service that collects anonymous pageview data. This runs on every page and does not require consent because it sets no cookies and collects no personal information.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): A more detailed analytics service that helps us understand how visitors use our website. GA4 uses cookies to track sessions and page interactions. We only load GA4 after you give explicit consent through our cookie banner. If you decline, no Google Analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for treatly.app.
GA4 may collect information such as pages visited, time on site, general geographic region, device type, and referral source. This data is used solely to improve the website experience. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising, and we do not enable Google Signals or data sharing with other Google products.
Third-Party Services
Treatly uses the following third-party services:
- Apple Sign In: For authentication
- Apple iCloud: For data backup and sync
- Firebase (Google): For social features
- Google Analytics 4: For website analytics (with cookie consent)
- Vercel Web Analytics: For anonymous website pageview data (cookie-free)
Each of these services has their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Children's Privacy
Treatly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
You can request to view, export, or delete your data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete your account and all associated data directly within the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
